FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves detecting rotation of the sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae and the first to third thoracic vertebrae from the frontal X-ray picture of the vertebral column by drawing axes through their bodies and spinous processes. Their relative positions are determined. If the axes of at least two of the vertebrae turn out to be misaligned, development of degenerative dystrophic changes of the vertebral column is predicted. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in predicting the degenerative dystrophic changes of the vertebral column from the X-ray picture information.
