FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorption purification of water, in particular, for removing radioactive cesium. High chemical stability of sorbent toward water makes it possible to eliminate virtually completely washing away toxic hexacyanoferrate ions into water during water cleaning process. This is achieved by precipitating transition metal hexacyanoferrate on porous carrier surface when successively impregnating carrier with hot solutions of potassium hexacyanoferrate and zinc sulfate followed by agitation and drying after each impregnation procedure. EFFECT: increased cesium ion sorption capacity. 1 tbl
