FIELD: strengthening treatment of low-rigid parts of machines. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes placing of deforming members into hollow of workpiece and given rotary and spatial oscillating motions by means of magnetic field. Surface layer of treated workpiece is subjected to effect of a alternating magnetic field, whose magnetic lines direction is periodically alternated through 180 deg with frequency ω=4-l650 s C-1. The tool for embodiment of the offered method has body of nonmagnetic material, webs from nonmagnetic materials which form circular chamber for deforming members. Chamber is opened in direction from body axis to its periphery surface. Deforming members are mounted for rotation and spatial oscillating motions. Sources of magnetic field are located on the bottom of the above-mentioned chamber. Unit of magnetic treatment of surface layer of treated product is made in form of intermediate bushing installed concentrically to body, uniformly spaced over body perimeter alternating plates of magnetic and nonmagnetic materials, prismatic magnets with axial magnetizing. Prismatic magnets are located in holes of intermediate bushing parallel to its longitudinal axis. Adjacent prismatic magnets are located relative to each other at angle of 180 deg and facing each web by opposite poles. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl
