FIELD: carbon material production. SUBSTANCE: polyacrylonitrile fibers are oxidized in sealed chamber at 245-255 C. Chamber is operated in thermostatically controlled mode and has means for transporting fibers and removing heat releasing in oxidation process. Heat is removed when fibers come into contact with surface on which temperature 180 to 280 C is maintained. Temperature difference between heat- absorption zone and heat-dissipation extrachamber zone is maintained in the range of 160 to 260 C. Fiber displacement velocity in chamber is established such that oxidation occurred with 1: 1.2 fiber stretching rate, then under isometric conditions, and finally with relaxation at 1.2:1.08 proportion. EFFECT: optimized process parameters. 7 cl, 4 dwg
