FIELD: lighting engineering; manufacture of metal load-bearing and guard structures. SUBSTANCE: notches are made in corners between adjacent vertical walls of housing on inner side; angle at vertex of notch is equal to or slightly exceeds rated angle between walls when ready for use; height is equal to or slightly exceeds distance between neutral layer of blank and its inner surface at pure bending of flat blank. Notches made in line of bending considerably reduce mechanical stresses at points of bending and provide for effective bending at minimum force. Blank is bent accurately by vertices of notches through required angle forming desired profile due to notches. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; reduced bending force. 6 cl, 35 dwg
