FIELD: testing. SUBSTANCE: there is used specimen composed of two members: outer tubular member 1 and inner member 2. First one simulates article and second one is used as index of loaded state of first member. Outer tubular member 1 has capability of axial movement with respect to inner member 2 thanks to presence of tooth or keyed joints 6 and 7 with bearing elements 14 and 15 of their clamps 4 and 5. Specimen loaded with static torque for fatigue test under continuous rotation is subjected to simultaneous cyclic bending and loads for extension or compression. Fatigue characteristics are determined with allowance for influence of fatigue characteristics of inner member 2 made from material with known higher rigidity as compared with material from which outer tubular member is manufactured.
