FIELD: experimental ballistics at testing of small arms and sporting-hunting guns. SUBSTANCE: the device uses two annular variable reluctance pickups, whose signal windings are enveloped by a turn of soft magnetic material, pulse-shaping circuit, one-shot multivibrator, inverter, time interval meter and a computer; use is also made of a standardizing amplifier, mull detector, second one-shot multivibrator and a coincidence circuit; the variable reluctance pickups are installed on a tube of non-magnetic and non-conducting material and placed in a metal housing.
