FIELD: quantum electronics; servicing large gas-dynamic laser units. SUBSTANCE: auxiliary fuel, including combustible fuel and oxidizer, is supplied and burned, heat-accumulating checker, regenerative heat exchangers, ballast component, and oxidizer are heated by means of auxiliary fuel combustion products, working medium components are supplied to gas generator, with ballast component and oxidizer preheated in regenerative heat exchangers. Upon heating checkers of heat exchangers, auxiliary fuel supply is shut off and auxiliary oxidizer is shut off at certain time delay t specified by condition 0,15τ<t<0,30τ, where τ is time of arrival of heat wave during checker heating to checker layer distant from gas generator.
