FIELD: quantum electronics; large gas-dynamic laser units burning combustion products.
SUBSTANCE: auxiliary fuel is supplied and burned for heating heat-accumulating packing of ballast-component and oxidizer heat exchangers. Working-medium components, including fuel, are supplied to gas producer. Ballast component and oxidizer are preheated in regenerative heat exchangers. Then working medium is burned. In addition, working-medium components being heated and auxiliary-fuel combustion products are fed in counter-current manner. Heat-exchanger packing is heated ahead of heat wave arrival to packing layer distant from gas producer in the course of heating the packing. In the process maximal effective temperature of heat-exchanger packing layer closest to gas producer is maintained between boiling point of fuel and standard self-ignition temperature. Fuel is supplied to gas producer at certain time delay relative to both ballast component and oxidizer. Minimal time delay is chosen from shortest times taken to fill up ballast component and oxidizer heat exchangers.
EFFECT: enhanced specific energy take-off and reliability.
