FIELD: applied meteorology, in particular, agricultural meteorology. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining active layer of cloud medium by radar sounding of hailstorm cloud, with active layer being limited from below by reactant threshold crystallization temperature; determining in this layer future hail formation regions limited at sides by radar reflectivity isocontours of 10-12 cm cm-1 obtained in previous and subsequent cycles of measurement; excluding from given region the zones sectioned by reflectivity isocontour of 10-10 cm cm-1 obtained in subsequent measurement cycle and introducing reactant into remaining part of cloud; widening frontal boundary of future hail formation region to 2.5 km in the direction of radio echo overhang; providing atmospheric supervision at 3-5 min cycling and discreteness not below 0.5 km in all directions.
