FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neutralization of gaseous impurities in hot furnace gas formed in combustion process. Harmful effluent gas is subjected to chemical and mechanical treatment, in the course of which, primary condensation of at least a part of water vapor present in effluent gas occurs followed by mixing obtained condensate with separated high-concentration alkali metal salts and/or alkalis and residual gas and washing gas stream. In such way, admixed product formed in purification process is largely removed from residual furnace gas. Loss of heat energy of furnace gas in initial scrubbing process may be further compensated by additional heating. Process of invention includes additional treatment consisting in spraying treated furnace gas with basic substance of the lime solution type in order to completely remove acidic impurities and to control carbon dioxide release.
