FIELD: strip cold rolling. SUBSTANCE: method comprises cold rolling of endless blank of hot rolled strips mutually joined by their ends. Before cold rolling endless blank is descaled and accumulated in receiver. Blank is rolled by forward and backward passes along periodic successive portions. Portions of blank are accumulated in receiver at return pass. Zones of joined ends of hot rolled strips are coincided with boundaries of successive portions. Installation includes descaling unit, reversing rolling mill, accumulating receiver arranged between them for intermittently feeding successive portions of blank to rolling mill with period of reversing rolling cycle. Installation also includes means for single-direction intermittent feed of successive portions of blank to rolling mill with period of reversing rolling cycle and unit for matching zones of strip joined ends with boundaries of successive portions. Accumulating receiver is made with possibility of intermittently returning blank portion from side of rolling mill to receiver with period of reversing rolling cycle. EFFECT: elimination of tearing off zones of strip joined ends, lowered dimension of equipment with realization of all potential possibilities of descaling unit and rolling mill. 4 cl, 10 dwg
