FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method involves steel making with the specified component content, further hot rolling of slab blank, etching of a strip, cold rolling, coiling, recrystallisation annealing, as well as temper rolling and longitudinal splitting to the required width. During cold rolling of the strip to final thickness, reductions in thickness in the last mill stand are maintained in the range of 0.20÷0.35 mm at surface roughness of operating rolls of the last stand Ra=2.8÷3.3 mcm; at that, specific tension between the last mill stand and coiler is established in the range of 27-30 N/mm2. Besides, at temper rolling there used are operating rolls with barrel surface roughness Ra≤0.6 mcm, as well as values of reduction of cross-sectional area are regulated at temper rolling depending on final thickness of the strip by means of an empiric expression.

EFFECT: providing the required surface roughness of a cold-rolled strip at the specified surface hardness.
