FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, usage of wire as cords for pneumatic tires. SUBSTANCE: method involves extruding flow 8 of melt 4 through outlet opening 7 of spinneret 7 into layer of cooling liquid 9, which is thrown by centrifugal forces to inner wall 10 of rotating drum 11; feeding melt 4 to crucible 2; placing spinneret 7 in one end of crucible 2 so that spinneret 7 is connected with crucible 2 through sealing layer; heating melt 4 simultaneously in crucible 2 and spinneret 7 by heater 3; supplying inert or reducing gas in contact with flow 8 at outlet end of spinneret 7. Crucible may be made from quartz glass, spinneret from stabilized zircon and sealing layer from mixture of silicon oxide and boron oxide. Wire is made from amorphous alloys of formula recited in Specifications. EFFECT: increased efficiency in producing continuous wire without fractures, improved mechanical properties and corrosion-resistance allowing wire to be used in many branches of industry. 31 cl, 4 dwg
