FIELD: ready-for-use metal wires and methods of their production. SUBSTANCE: wire may be used, for instance, for reinforcing of articles of plastic and rubber, particularly, pipes, bolts, films, pneumatic tires. Ready-for-use metal wire contains microalloyed steel whose structure presents practically fully tempered cold-deformed martensite. Wire minimal diameter is 0.1 mm and maximum diameter is 0.50 mm. Wire minimal breaking strength is 2800 MPa. Method of production of thin wire includes deformation of wire rod, hardening of deformed wire and heating up to temperature of tempering to provide for formation of structure consisting practically fully of tempered martensite. Then wire is cooled and deformed. Assembled articles containing at least one such wire or many wires, or articles made of wire are used, particularly, in reinforcing of pneumatic tires. EFFECT: sufficient strength of wire before drawing, stable mechanical properties and hardening of steel for martensite. 27 cl, 6 tbl
