FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: two-shaft gearbox has two clusters of driving gears 4 and driven gears 6 with herringbone teeth meshing with each other. Mechanism for engagement of gears 4 with shaft 2 is mounted on driving shaft 2. This mechanism consists of concentrically arranged axially movable sleeves engaging through splines. Sleeves and hubs of gears 4 are provided with engagement members on end faces. Control drive provides displacement of sleeve in direction of its meshing with gear 4 to transmit torque from driving shaft to driven shaft. EFFECT: improved reliability of operation. 3 cl, 3 dwg
