METHODS OF PROTECTION OF STACKED GLASS SHEETS AND ARTICLE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2141876 C1

FIELD: methods of protection of stacked glass sheets. SUBSTANCE: separating material in method of protection of stacked glass sheet is used in form of high polymer or mixture of polymers with average molecular weight equalling, at least, 100000. High polymer is applied to main surface of the first glass sheet. Main surface of the second glass sheet is located with its face to main surface of the first glass sheet. Separating material may be in form of high polyethylene with average molecular weight of 1000000 or ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene (3000000-6000000) or polymethyl methacrylate with average molecular weight of 1000000. Separating material may consist of particles with average size of 20 mcm or 100-300 mcm and may present milled powder or spherical granules. Method additionally includes stage of application of coating on inhibitor of spot formation of the first glass sheet before location of the second glass sheet with face to main surface of the first glass sheet. Spot formation inhibitor is acid, for adipic acid. Surface of each glass sheet may be coated with coating based on tin oxide. Article consists of many glass sheets separated with separating material located between glass sheets and presenting high polymer with average molecular weight of, at least, 100000. Separating material in compliance with the invention ensures high resistance to damaged action as compared with the known dispersed separating materials, alongside with stable sizes and impact strength required for prevention of formation of vacuum between stacked glass sheets. Separating material features superior rigidity, wear-resistance, resistance to cracking and low moisture absorption with preservation of low friction coefficient typical for all polyethylenes. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 34 cl, 2 tbl
