FIELD: insulating plates applicable in damp proofing of damp walls. SUBSTANCE: insulating plate has insulating surfaces and end part whose front edge is made with wedge-shaped profile. Profile may be symmetrical and its edge flat or rounded. Side surfaces of profile may be convex or concave, and profile itself may be thicker than the other part of plate. Zone of transition of profile to the other part of plate may be made stepped. Method of manufacture of insulating plate consists in forming of plate and forming of profile by polishing, forging or rolling. Plato may be shaped, for instance, by corrugation. The offered method is embodied by device having means for plate forming and means for shaping of wedge-shaped profile. The latter may be made in form of grinding wheels, hammer mechanism or rolling rolls. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 19 cl, 12 dwg
