FIELD: sorption procedure for decontaminating highly radioactive water. SUBSTANCE: method involves filtering water through combination charge of cation-exchange inorganic sorbents of zirconium phosphate and/or titanium phosphate in hydrogen and salt forms. Volume proportion of hydrogen and salt forms of sorbents in combination charge is 1:2-2:1. Lithium, sodium, or potassium forms are used, as a rule, as salt forms of sorbent. Sorbents are usually arranged in combination charge in layers; first layer along decontaminated water path has sorbent in hydrogen form and second layer has sorbent in salt form. EFFECT: provision for maintaining steady and neutral pH value of medium at sorption column outlet; facilitated procedure of water decontamination. 7 cl, 2 tbl
