CENTRIFUGE FOR RECOVERING HEAVY NON-FERROUS METAL FROM SLURRY Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mining and ore dressing industries; production of non-ferrous metals (gold). SUBSTANCE: proposed centrifuge comprises cylindrical body having conical bottom and discharge pipe. Body houses rotor comprising outer cylindrical shell having bottom and overflow edge. Outer shell houses, arranged at some distance from its wall, inner cylindrical shell so that both shells define circular cavity therebetween. Inner shell has plurality of openings for passage of washing water flow and it is divided by circular partitions into sections. Centrifuge further comprises inlet pipe and conduits leading to outer shell bottom for admission of washing water into circular cavity, means for supply of feed slurry, and drive unit. Body is provided with branch inlet pipe for feeding thereinto water and feed slurry, and with means for washing water circulation from centrifuge body to rotor. Said washing water circulation means comprises bowl arranged concentrically with rotor in such manner that its bottom is disposed above rotor so as to form discharging channels intended to discharge excess of slurry from inner shell of rotor, and filtering partition arranged in upper portion of body and attached to walls of body and of bowl. Bowl bottom has centrally disposed branch pipe for passage of washing water into inlet pipe of rotor. EFFECT: proposed centrifuge ensures high percentage of recoveries of metal values, particularly gold, from feed slurries. 1 dwg
