FIELD: concentration of minerals; apparatus for hydraulic classification and fractionating of mineral raw materials in ascending flow of liquid. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic classifier has housing with cylindrical chamber and taper bottom, pulp delivery branch pipe and sand discharge branch pipe located in lower portion of housing, branch pipes for d3elivery of water to middle portion of housing, drain chute and air evacuating branch pipe located in upper portion of housing, cylindrical rings located coaxially inside housing with diameters reducing downward, plates mounted radially in side housing, taper shell located in power portion of housing, cylinder mounted in upper portion of housing coaxially relative to it and provided with hermetic casing above it and parabolic reflector located inside cylinder at spaced relation to it; surface of taper shell is provided with radial fins located at similar pitch; inter-fin recesses are provided with through slots in upper portion; these slots are shielded by cone-shaped shell at the top; slots are used for communication of cavities above and under taper shell; inner edge of taper shell has bead located at spaced relation to taper bottom.
