FIELD: chemical engineering; production of building materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed cyclone comprises separation chamber, conically shaped hopper, and inlet pipe merging into device for admission of materials flow to be separated. Latter device forms obliquely extending helical cavity defined by axial-end lid from top and by side wall having cylindrical vertical surface and conical surface. Cylindrical surface is formed with height decreasing down to zero following flow direction, whereas conical surface gradually passes, as viewed in flow movement direction, into vertical cylindrical wall of separation chamber in its discharge portion. Inclination angle β of conical surface meets condition 0<β<2α, wherein α is inclination angle of hopper wall. It is expedient that angle β be made equal to angle α and that hopper be made in form of two truncated cones. Proposed cyclone- separator can be used for separating particulate matter from fluid media, in particular, cement powder from hot gas media. EFFECT: useful invention for high-quality cement production. 3 cl, 3 dwg
