FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: natural and industrial waters are treated by electrocoagulation technique involving pulse voltage and periodical voltage variation on electrodes of electrocoagulator. Pulse repetition period T consists of n pulses of positive polarity voltage and m pulses of negative polarity voltage with τ duration and interpulse pause duration τ2 plus one pause τ3, i.e. T=(n+m)τ1+(n+m-1)τ2+τ3 where n ≥ m. Voltage pulses have quasi-triangular form. Parameters τ2 and τ3, n, and m are controlled as functions of impurity concentrations retaining summary number of positive and negative polarity pulses: n+m= Const. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 1 dwg, 2 tbl
