FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: water is treated in reactor with transverse barriers forming compartments with beam and annular bubblers wherein water moves from the top downward describing circular trajectory and interacting with air jets fed through horizontal openings of beam bubblers and from tangential openings of circular bubblers. Beam bubblers are installed relative to transverse barriers at distance increasing in the direction of water flow from the top, whereas excessive activated sludge is withdrawn, disintegrated, and recycled into non-treated water.
