FIELD: manufacturing of screen for display kinescope. SUBSTANCE: ZnS is wetted by aqueous solutions of CuSO4 and AICI3, mixed, wetted at 110-130 C and calcined. Said calcination is carried out in enclosed volume at 400-450 C and 900-950 C, sustaining period at each stage being 0.5-1 h. Proposed cathode luminophor comprises, mas.%: copper, 0.002-0.0035; aluminium chloride, 0.2-0.5 (as calculated for metal); zinc sulfide, the balance. Desired luminophor has white heat, duration of afterglow is 10 ms. Intensity of luminescence is 2100-2600 cd/m2, its uniformity is ±1 10 %; homogeneity of white color by screen area is not less ± 0.002. EFFECT: improved quality of desired product. 2 tbl
