FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: benzene is produced by way of hydrogenation stabilization of side-cut distillate of pyrolysis liquid product and subsequent separation of stabilized product into two fractions with boiling ranges 62-105 C and 105 C to dry point. Fraction 62-105 C separately or in mixture with 62-105 C fraction of reforming product (weight content of the latter up to 90%) is successively subjected to hydrodesulfurization, selective hydrogenation cracking and hydroisomerization, afterpurification from unsaturated and sulfur-containing compounds, and extraction to yield isolated benzene, toluene, and high-octane gasoline component. Fraction 105 C-dry point mixed with additional amount of toluene or in mixture with toluene and toluene fraction of reforming product is successively subjected to hydrofining and hydrogenation dealkylation. EFFECT: increased yield of benzene with additionally produced high- octane gasoline component. 7 cl, 1 tbl
