FIELD: agriculture, in particular, cucurbit cultivation. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing basic cultivation; cutting furrows in direction transverse to slope, with furrow depth ranging between 10-20 cm; sowing 3-4 seeds of watermelon and equal number of corn seeds in each 35 cm onto furrow bottom; watering; upon germination, effectuating thinning of watermelon plants at third-fourth leaf phase by cutting off aboveground part of plants at the level of soil surface, with only one strong plant of each culture being left in each hill; cutting off corn sprouts, when they reach 30-40 cm height. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and improved quality of watermelon.
