FIELD: agriculture, in particular, growing of cucurbit crops. SUBSTANCE: method involves sowing Cappris Spinosa Z between plants of other kind on low-grass virgin land in rows with 2.4 m spacings and 0.7 m space between plants; cutting plants from root neck; sowing water melon seeds into hole adjacent to plant root neck. Cappris Spinosa plants release juice flushing water melon seeds. This process goes on for over one month, i.e. till plant roots rot. During this period, water melon plant passes through vine formation phase, grows and brings fruits. In order to have plants "helping" in growing of water melon plants, it is recommended that Cappris Spinosa be yearly sown in parallel with water melon seed sowing on other like lands supposed for growing of water melon next year. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and improved yield.
