FIELD: ritual services. SUBSTANCE: coffin has base with handles and cover having flat ends, which have sizes allowing base and cover to coincide during assembly of coffin and made from laminated material with filler. Base and cover are made from laminated reinforced shells with walls and bottom fixed in spaced relation one relative to the other. Bottom and walls have honeycomb filler. Spaces allow walls to be set in predetermined position during assembly and fixed by pins in end walls, stop in longitudinal end faces and banding cord running in channels of base and cover walls. Handles may be made detachable and spring-based and positioned on supporting bands placed in base and secured on inner surface of walls. Ornamental edge in ends of walls may be fastened on pins and along perimeter of base and cover on banding cord. Inner liner of coffin may be fastened on inner side walls by removable joint, for instance, flexible Velcro-type tape. Outer surface of coffin may be covered with flock-type piles. Bent portions of shell may be reinforced with fabric. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced weight, wider operational capabilities and simplified construction. 5 cl, 6 dwg
