FIELD: alcohol industry. SUBSTANCE: water-alcohol mixtures are directed onto feed tray of epuration column, top part of which is supplied with hot water and bottom part with potassium permanganate solution. Amounts of the two latter depend on quantitative and qualitative composition of impurities contained in alcohol and are defined in terms of following equations: where is volume ratio of fed water to total column feed, the same for 1% potassium permanganate aqueous solution, Ca, Cet, Cs, Cun concentration of aldehydes, ethers, sulfur-containing and unsaturated compounds in alcohol, mg/cu.dm (alcohol produced using conventional technology), x is volume part of alcohol in total feed, a and B are empirical coefficients. EFFECT: facilitated process control. 3 cl
