SUBSTANCE: invention relates to washing filtration units in cross-current filtration installation designed to clarify liquids, in particular, crude juice, operated under conditions providing high content of solid phase in retentate flow circuit. On stopping installation, for example, when power supply is cut off, filtration units are washed to remove solid particles by way of feeding units with washing liquid from the side of retentate, consumption of which being increased with time and/or geometrically.
