FIELD: plastic metal working, namely, production of sleeve-type articles by extrusion. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of backward extrusion and sizing. Sizing operation is realized at process of backward extrusion due to expanding inner cavity of extruded product by deformation value exceeding elastic deformation. Apparatus for making sleeve-type articles includes die and punch. Punch has working cylindrical portion with sizing land on its end. Diameter of land is more than that of cylindrical portion of punch. Sizing portion of punch is in the form of truncated cone whose large base is joined with stem portion. Diameter of cylindrical portion of punch consists 0.993-0.997 of diameter of sizing land. Diameter of large base of cone portion is no less than diameter of sizing land.
