FIELD: sewing engineering. SUBSTANCE: needle carrier is made from aluminum alloys by microarc oxidation method. Layer of wear-resistant material applied to working surface contains solid phase based composite, containing, wt. -%: α - Al2O3, 60-80; γ - Al2O3, 27-13; mullite, 3; Al2O32SiO2, 2-13. Mentioned composite has low friction coefficient, μ = 0.023-0.035, low wearing intensity of Ih10-10 - 10-11, increased corrosion resistance and microhardness H approximately equal to 16 GPa, layer thickness of up to 300 microns. Such needle carrier may be used in high-speed sewing machines. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved wear-resistance and reduced production cost. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
