FIELD: acoustic measurements, measurement of levels of operational noise in compartments of diver's and medical pressure chambers subjected to acoustic certification, pressure apparatuses and other objects. SUBSTANCE: method consists in exclusion of preliminary calibration of sound receiver used in calibrated pressure chamber due to its execution directly in examined pressure chamber with the aid of calibrated sound source. On basis of calibration measurements executed under atmospheric air pressure and under operational condition of pressure chamber and of known acoustic characteristics of gas atmosphere there are determined levels of acoustic pressure in pressure chamber by calculation taking into account change of sensitivity of sound receiver in hyperbaric gas atmosphere. Device for realization of method has measurement receiver and calibration sound source installed inside pressure chamber at certain (small) distance one form another on one axis and connected with the help of cable correspondingly to measuring unit and sinusoidal voltage generator installed in one case outside pressure chamber. Small-size electro-acoustic converter of piezoceramic type or capsule similar to that of measure- receiver of sound of capacitor type is used as calibration sound source.
