FIELD: medicine; orthopedics; traumatology. SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus comprises basic arcuate support provided with openings and carrying guide members for perosseous fixing elements. Apparatus also comprises auxiliary arcuate support with openings. Basic arcuate support is formed with recesses, axes of which extend along diameters of support. Recesses accommodate guide members in such manner that latter are capable of contacting auxiliary support. Each guide member for perosseous fixing element is made in form of sleeve provided with longitudinally extending slit and sharpened end. Proposed method comprises following steps of: soft tissues intended to constitute stock are gripped and moved aside with help of proposed external fixation apparatus which is disposed in plane perpendicular to axis perpendicular to axis of bone fragment to be fixed, in position that must be occupied by support after turning bone fragments. Next guide members are inserted into patient's skin and soft tissues all way down to bone, followed by turning support to position that is required for insertion of fixation elements into fractured bone. EFFECT: proposed method and apparatus are particularly useful in perosseous osteosynthesis for correcting extremities' deformations and for treating hip joint diseases. 3 cl, 5 dwg
