FIELD: building industry, more particularly decorative facing building material. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises heating half-finished products consisting of one or more layers comprising glass granulate and other compounds which include calcium and magnesium carbonates or double carbonates. The half-finishes product composition also includes silica gel which is uniformly distributed volumetrically in amount essential for absorbing the entire volume of carbon dioxide of evolving during heat treatment at temperatures at which calcium and mangesium carbonates or double carbonates are decomposed, and the half-finished product is heated to temperature at which silica gel sinters tightly with main glass granulate. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
