FIELD: medicine, neurosurgery, neuropathology, neonatology. SUBSTANCE: method deals with neurosonography along with the scanning of cerebrospinal liquid to determine protein level. When protein level is increased in cerebrospinal or cystic liquid its physical parameters are changed, for example its viscosity becomes higher. The given symptom is seen at inflammatory diseases of nervous system: meningitis, encephalitis, arachnoiditis, in cystic sections of brain and spinal cord tumors, syringomyelitic cavities of spinal cord due to increased protein content. Pathological changes are diagnosed at protein level increase of 0.8 g/l and higher. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics due to estimating the density of cerebrospinal liquid.
