FIELD: radio engineering, high-voltage pulse equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use as commutator in high-voltage circuits forming high-voltage pulses. Gas-filled switching tube has electrodes mounted opposite one to another in metal case and insulators in the form of truncated cones which minor bases are anchored on electrodes and which major bases are located on butts of case. Novelty consists in that length of generating line of insulator operating under pulse voltage is equal to 0.4-0.6 length of envelope of insulator working under static voltage.
