FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: gas-filled discharger comprises metal case accommodating two electrodes arranged along its axis, opposite each other, one being secured on high-voltage lead and separated from case by insulator and another one being electrically connected with said case. It incorporates also a shield secured on high-voltage inlet, aligned with electrode. Note here that said inlet passes inside said insulator. The latter represents a disk, while shield embraces the electrode secured on high-voltage lead, and has circular section and truncated cone section adjoining the shield. Smaller base of said truncated cone is located with a gap with respect to insulator not exceeding 0.05 D, where D is diametre of truncated cone larger base, while angle between cone generatrix and insulator surface varies between 20°-30°.
EFFECT: lower intrinsic inductivity, ease of manufacture, higher insulator surface resistance and efficient protection against dusting by electrode erosion products.
