FIELD: manufacture of blooms from carbon and alloy steel in reversing primary mills. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating ingot and squeezing on continuous barrel and in passes. Heated ingot is squeezed on continuous barrel to obtain rectangular section rolled billet with large and small side ratio of 1.7-2.0. Method further involves multiple-pass squeezing in box passes with following sequential reducing of large and small side ratio to the value of 1.05-1.20; rolling billet for one pass on continuous barrel to obtain bloom having final size. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of blooms. 2 dwg , 1 tbl
