FIELD: metallurgy, particularly, rolled strock production, particularly, rolling steel ingots to blooms. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing hot ingots widened downwards in vertical position into heating well, heating them and performing multiple rolling. Ingots are placed at temperature of their surface equal to 600-950 C in such a way that their widened ends are turned upwards; heating ingots up to temperature 1200-1350 C and realizing multiple rolling at total elongation degree 2.7-6.5. Invention provides filling of shrinkage cavities, welding internal non-oxidized discontinuities. EFFECT: less loss of yield. 1 tbl, 1 ex
