FIELD: steelmaking. SUBSTANCE: method involves smelting metal in furnace followed by heating it to predetermined temperature, tapping metal into steel- teeming ladle with alumina-containing lining, finally adjusting chemical composition of metal in ladle, and casting steel into blanks on continuous casting machine through intermediate ladle using, in different smeltings, alternating use of intermediate ladles with cold and hot linings. Novelty consists in that, when using intermediate ladle with cold lining, metal in furnace is heated to 1690-1740 C and tapped into steel-teeming ladle with high-alumina lining, whereas, when hot-lining intermediate ladle is used, metal in furnace is heated to 1660-1690 C and tapped into steel-teeming ladle with its lower part made of chamotte lining and upper part of periclase-chromite refractory material. Each fourth smelting is performed with cold- lining intermediate ladle and remaining three with hot-lining one. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 2 cl, 2 tbl
