FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading metal charge, smelting, decarbonizing smelt, loading manganese oxide-containing materials (according to invention, no more than 3 kg) and reducing agent, tapping metal and slag smelt into ladle, adding ferrosilicon, and blowing smelt with neutral gas. Novelty consists in (i) using, as reducing agent, carbon-containing material which, in quantity in excess of stoichiometrically needed to reduce manganese, is introduced into furnace to be melt in common with 2-10 kg/t of manganese oxide materials, and (ii) adding ferrosilicon to ladle together with aluminum, after which metal and slag smelt is tapped into ladle and blown with neutral gas for at least 2 min.
