FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to devices intended for investigation of physico-chemical properties of earth. Device has base 1, shear box with stamp 2 made up of stationary holder 3 and movable holder 4 for location of earth sample, and also unit for creating shearing force and unit for creating vertical load. This latter unit is made in the form of forcing frame 8 with weight 9 and is provided with electromagnet 10 secured on base 1 by means of bracket 11. Armature 12 is located on upper part of forcing frame 8. Electrical section of electromagnet has rheostat 13 with its slide member 14 connected with movable holder 4 of shear box.
