FIELD: wire production. SUBSTANCE: method of making bimetallic wire comprises steps of preparing belt whose both sides are coated by sheath metal; slitting said belt by rectangular cross section wires, forming wire sheath by rolling; at first making groove on wire faces without coat, then simultaneously bending wire edges until their close mutual joining or alternatively with mutual overlapping by 3-10% of half value of perimeter of said wire.
