FIELD: pipe line fittings. SUBSTANCE: ball cock includes metal body with swivel rod received by its hole, spherical plug engageable with seats, inlet and outlet branch pipes. Inner surfaces of these branch pipes and that of body are provided with linings. Ball cock includes also rod turn limiter and rod seal. Body is made integral with branch pipes. Diameter of hole for receiving the rod exceeds that of rod by thickness of seal. Linings of inner surfaces of body and branch pipes, seats, rod seal and rod turn limiter are made integral from composite material. Method of manufacture of ball cock consists in manufacture of metal billets for body, swivel rod and spherical plug followed by metal working and mounting the members on base. Spherical plug is preliminarily assembled with inserts placed in through-way hole of plug. Assembly thus obtained is arranged in body in such position that hole in plug intended for receiving the rod is directed towards that in body, coaxially with it. Then inserts are secured in cradles and rod is inserted through above-mentioned hole in body respective hole in spherical plug. Unit thus assembled in mounted on plate provided with hole for rod and bore for seal and rod turn limiter. Cradle is closed by cover having hole for filling compound. Cover and plate are fastened together and mould is placed on base and heated. Hot compound is pored through hole in cover. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 2 dwg
