METHOD OF ASSEMBLING DIFFERENT TYPE CAR BODIES AND CAR BODY ASSEMBLED BY THIS METHOD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; assembling of car bodies on base of common chassis. SUBSTANCE: unified central module of car body of two-door short base modification which has bearing base in assembly with front part, outer and inner side panels, roof with windshield frame and their reinforcement members is cut into two or more parts to form connecting units with due account of required design of body. Line of cut of each unit is independent, and is arranged in different planes spatially. To preserve front door aperture and its rigidity, side outer panel is cut over surface of central pillar. Simultaneously additional insert members for base their reinforcement parts, roof and sides and their reinforcement parts are manufactured and also shape forming members of car, depending on its modification, are made. At the following step, positioning of cut parts is carried out to provide required elongation of body and units with additional insert members and shape forming members are assembled together.
