FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: return solution and bauxite are heated, bauxite is leached, and resulting slurry is thickened thus producing aluminate solution and red sludge. Aluminate solution is decomposed and aluminum hydroxide is separated from mother liquor which is then heated and evaporated. Red sludge is directed into the stage of heating and evaporation of mother liquor in quantity providing solid phase content in mother liquor 5 to 25 g/l. Resulting return solution is directed into bauxite leaching stage. EFFECT: improved process flowsheet.
