FIELD: metal working. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for purifying lubricating fluids in process operation when finely dispersed ferromagnetic particles are formed. Apparatus contains vessel for fluid being treated with supply and discharge connecting pipes; magnet system in the form of, disposed inside vessel and installed on star gears, drive endless belt conveyor with attached to it magnetic rods, axes of conveyor largely coinciding with axes of supply and discharge connecting pipes; drive of belt conveyor; and device for scouring rods with tray. Drive of belt conveyor is of distributive type and constitutes reducer, casing of which incorporates alternatively arranged driving and idler gear wheels on shafts. All star gears located in upper part of vessel are rigidly mounted on shafts with driving gear wheels and each star gear located in lower part of vessel is sheltered inside moveable spring-loaded housing.
