FIELD: coatings. SUBSTANCE: invention focuses on black- colored protective-decorative coatings on objects of valve metals and alloys, in particular, on objects of aluminum, titanium, and their alloys and may find use when manufacturing instrument panels, radiators, solar batteries, decorations, etc. Coatings are applied under sparkle discharge in galvanostatic conditions at constant current density 3-10 A/sq.dm for 5-20 min in electrolyte containing 15-20 g/l of sodium dihydrophosphate, 20-30 g/l of potassium ferrocyanide, and 3-7 g/l of sodium tungstenate or molybdate. EFFECT: reduced power consumption and increased workability of electrolyte. 1 tbl
